    The World is Walled

The best-seller author, Thomas L. Friedman, previously took the world as flat.  In Thomas’s new book, however, he describes the world as hot and flat and crowded.  As put in his work currently hitting China’s book market, David M. Smick has depicted us a totally different picture of the world lying ahead--it is curved.  Here, unfortunately, we are living in a walled world.  The Berlin Wall has been down for twenty years, but the invisible wall enclosing the internet stands up firmly out there.  Please just stay calm and feel “grateful” if you unexpectedly find your websites inaccessible when logging on to such SNS as Fanfou, Twitter and Facebook, because cyber-policemen here have protected you from browsing “unsuitable” information.  It was reported that the authority once deliberately put the network services out of order due to the popup of unrest in Western China more than ten days ago. This measure might have effectively cut off the communications between rioters, but the subsequent blockage after the event on some internet recourses appears disgusting.  The past June this year has seen the same control over net when the twentieth anniversary drew close.  In movie, the Legend of 1900, little 1900 emboldened to reply “fuck the regulation”, when captain of Virginian said that he could not play piano as he played with no regulation.  Will people someday utter “fuck the wall” when they refuse to live in a seemingly “beautiful garden” anymore?  Do not lose the optimism!  People were told that they were the happiest ever in the world in Maoism age because the rest were being populated at “deep water and hot fire”.  Actually, it had been distorted, and they finally found that common workers in some hateful capitalism countries could even have their own houses and autos after the open-up and reform policy was launched.  Exactly we are now living in a more transparent world compared with those in 1960s and 1970s.  Controls over net, however, is supposed to be melted down further.  It took Mr. Andy Dufresne twenty years to break the Shawshank prison, and Mcicheal Scofiel’s prison break is also a time-consuming and hard one.  Anyway do not let people wait for too long a time.
